HandsFree has not carried a passenger yet. Nothing on this site is a measured result. Every figure is a plan or a target, and the published numbers begin the week the first car does.

Nothing posted yet

The log.

Not a blog. A running record of what we find out running Teslas on Full Self-Driving on the same roads every day — including the parts that make us look slow. It is empty, because we haven't driven anything yet.

Why there is nothing here

Because nothing has happened yet. We could fill this page with what we expect to find, and it would read like a record of things we had already done. The first entry goes up when there is something real to put in it, and not before.

WHAT WILL GO HERE

The weekly data drop

Every Monday once we're running: miles, takeovers, causes, and what changed from last week. Short, dull, and never skipped — especially not on a bad week.

WHAT WILL GO HERE

Version write-ups

When Tesla ships an update, what it did to our numbers on our roads. Including the ones that made things worse, which is the only reason the others are worth reading.

WHAT WILL GO HERE

The junctions that beat the car

Named locations, once we have driven them enough times to have a rate rather than a story. Useful whether or not you ever ride with us.

WHAT WILL GO HERE

Things we got wrong

The assumptions on the about page that turn out to be wrong, and what it cost us to find out. Those stay up permanently.
